Complaints
The primary goal of Danby's complaint process is to maintain a high quality of life in our community; contribute to the improvement and stabilization of our town; protect property values; help promote a healthy and safe environment.
Have a Complaint?
Many people are not exactly sure what to do when they have a complaint. The first thing to do is politely talk with your neighbor or the property owner to work through any issues before sending in a complaint. More often than not, a resident will simply be unaware of their neighbor’s concern. Communication between neighbors helps build a stronger community and promotes the kind of friendly small town atmosphere we value in Danby. If your “good neighbor” effort fails, please fill out the form below. Complaints typically cover areas such as dog and cat issues (bites, running loose, animal cruelty), speeding, unfair evictions, rental property conditions (mold, no heat), junk vehicles / trash / rubbish on properties, sewer smells and malfunctions, wood smoke and land use related matters. Please note: Although some of these complaints are not within the town's jurisdiction, we will do our best to get you in touch with those that can assist!
Anonymous complaints are not able to be processed.
The town office staff will ensure that active and new complaints are are promptly addressed.
